Finance — understand how the money for business projects is raised and managed, with attention to corporate finance, investment banking, commercial banking, financial planning, securities and money management.
International Business — understand the dynamic patterns of international business, focusing on global economic, political, and social trends.
Legal Studies — understand legal issues and trends affecting business and society.
Management — understand the skills to motivate, allocate personnel, organizational design and planning.
Marketing — understand the marketing of goods and services, from producers to consumers, brand and product management, advertising, market research, and public relations.
Operations Management — understand the basics of managing computer-integrated firms, production and operations management, manufacturing, and research analyst.
Graduate Admission Requirements
Documents Required for Graduate Admission
Original or certified copies of academic transcripts, diplomas or certificates, or other academic course work are required. Photocopied or scanned copies are not acceptable as official documents.
Include a certified English translation for all documents not written in English. If you need assistance translating your documents into English, we recommend using theAmerican Translators Association to find a certified translator.
Transcripts submitted for admission become the property of SUNY Plattsburgh and cannot be returned to you or sent to another college or university. Tests Required for Graduate Admission (for international)
TOEFL: All graduate programs will require you to take the TOEFL if English is not your first language. The following minimal scores are needed for program consideration: TOEFL scores of 83 IBT with no subscore below 20 or 560 PBT with no subscore below 54.
GRE or MAT: Many graduate programs require additional testing for admission. Speech-Language Pathology and Natural Science require the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Student Affairs & Higher Education, and all Teacher Education master's programs (M.S.T. or M.S.Ed.) require either the GRE or the Miller Analogy Test (MAT).Interviews
If your graduate program requires an interview, the graduate program faculty will contact you in order to set up a phone or Skype interview (if they have decided to consider you for admission to the graduate program). You should be prepared to answer their questions about why you wish to pursue the particular graduate degree program to which you have applied.
